Felt Tissue Holders.

I saw this on Martha Stewart and I loved the idea! I was nervous to try, but had sooo much fun making them! (Aside from the torrent of glue gun burns to my fingers!) They are felt pockets that hold small tissue packs. Starting out I wasn't sure how I was going to embellish them. But I found that using a stamped image on paper, then trimming that image out of the felt was a great way to go.

This is how the back of them look. They have an opening so they are refillable.

For these challenges -
The Shabby Tea Room. They want to see OLD MEETS NEW. Making an entire project from felt is new to me, and I combined that with old stamps and paper piecing patterns.
Pollycraft wants to see A Little Bit of Nature.
Cowgirls Sunday Stampen' wants to see Flowers. They also have a blog hop this week for those who are interested!

Thanks a Bunch Card.

I've been spending so much time at my work desk lately! Thank goodness Big Brother is on 3 times a week, or hubby and I wouldn't be enjoying ANY together time at all ;0) !
Last weekend the family and I went to our friends' house for lunch. Now I could call her to thank her, but where's the fun in that!? Hence, a THANK YOU card.

This card was inspired from 2 places. First, a sketch in the newest PaperCrafts magazine,
and secondly, the above photo from The Shabby Tea Room.

Altered Note Cube.

Another project I made with the November bazaar in mind. I actually made a few of these, but I took pics separately. Also, I say "altered" but maybe that is not the correct term, as I chucked all packaging and started from scratch!

For these 2 challenges -
Charisma Cardz wants to see Die Cuts.
Craft Your Days Away wants to see Things With Wings.

Thanks,
Farrah

I'm So Happy!

A HUGE thank you to Amanda at Crafty Creations by AJ for the fantastic award! Her work is so wonderful that I'm touched to receive an award from such a crafty talent!

The award rules are :
1. Thank the person who gave it to you. I've done that!
2. Add it to your blog. Also done.
3. Post my favourite pic.
Ok, this is what immediately came to mind. I feel a little guilty it's only my daughter and I have 2 boys as well. But I really love this photo! Last year we went to the Butterfly Conservatory and Livianna ( my daughter ) wanted a butterfly to land on her soooooo badly. An hour later, one had landed on everyone but her! Every time one fluttered around she would freeze with her arms extended just hoping to get lucky. When it finally happened, her face filled with pure happiness and awe, and I'm so thankful I managed to capture alot of that look in this pic.

4. List three things about myself.
a) When my kids are all in school and I have more "me" time, I intend to take up jogging.
b) In my early teens I excelled in painting and was starting to get some recognition for it. As it didn't want to be labelled as an "artist" I quit entirely and still sometimes struggle to allow the creative part of me out. I never leave my work area messy, and tidy it whenever I'm finished for the night to soothe my non-creative, rational side.
c) It's possible I have an addiction to paper!
5. Send this award to 5 other people. This is a bit tricky, but the rule is 5 so here goes,

Sandra at Papier Gardens. A good friend and very talented crafter.
Jan at Huh, So This Is a Blog. She has an unusual and fun style.
Faye at Stampin' Fluff N Stuff. Her work is fantastic, and her posts are laugh out loud funny.
Juls at The Glitter Chick. She makes the most elegant and classy cards.
Jill at A Life Well Crafted. A busy, inspirational crafter who always finds the time to say something nice.

Ok, I think I can now gracefully accept my award!

Thank You Cards.

So me and my talented crafty friend Sandra will be attending a Bazaar in November. **Check out her creations, you'll have inspiration overload!** We've booked two tables to display our work, so busy, busy, busy!! This is a Thank You Card Set I put together for then.

Here are what the cards and envelopes look like.

There are 4 of each. I also embellished the outside of the envelope and lined the inside.
All boxed up and ready to display. I added a list of what is included in the set and a gift tag incase whom ever takes it intends to give it as a present to someone else.

Made with these challenges bouncing around my head -
Sir Stamp Alot wants to see BLING! Check them out if you haven't already. The prize is unbelievable!
Craft Your Days Away. This is their 1st challenge and they want to see your "Favourite Something." My favourite thing (right now!) is that I get to go to this Bazaar and spend the day doing something I enjoy.
Etsy Inspired. This challenge is new to me, I only just discovered it. And I think it's brilliant. They feature an artist that displays on Etsy, then you create something inspired by their work. What fun, and what an honour. This week showcases Cathy Walters. Lots of elegant pieces, here is where my cards started from -

Thanks for stopping by,
Farrah

New Home Gift.

A good friend of mine recently bought a new house. I'm excited to visit her next weekend and see it for the first time. But I stressed over what to give as a housewarming gift. I decided to make coasters out of photos I had of her and her family. Ahhhh, but the stressing wasn't done yet. Oh no, there was a craft room full of stress trying to make the coasters! The problem was the technique I chose. It involved plexiglass and metal tape... blah, blah, the end result looked way too sloppy. Plan B I thought was going to be even more difficult but ended up being a breeze.
As far as I know, my friend doesn't blog and has never checked mine out. But just incase.... Jen! No peeking at the following pics! It's a surprise!

For anyone interested in giving this a go, you need:
-Some wooden shapes. I used circles. Then:
-Paint them with acrylic paints and let dry.
-Glue on photos and/or embellishments.
-Coat with Pour-On High Gloss Finish.
-Let it cure for 3 days and voila!

The colours and "feel" for this project were inspired by The Shabby Tea Room.I really didn't think I was going to finish this in time to enter their challenge. Gladly I did!

****** You still have this weekend left to play along at Kaboodle Doodles.******
Sorry to type your ear off,
